A STERIPLUS™ 40 installed at the Ibirapuera Stadium Covid-19 Field Hospital
(Sao Paulo, Brazil)
In Brazil, the production of hospital waste has increased tenfold since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. The treatment of this waste, especially the biohazardous ones, represents a major challenge in a country where 90% of municipalities do not have any appropriate treatment facilities.
Due to their compact size and ease of use, the Tesalys systems could be quickly deployed in field hospitals to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.
In May 2020, a Tesalys STERIPLUS™ 40 shredder-sterilizer has been deployed in the Ibirapuera Stadium Covid-19 Field Hospital (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in order to treat on site the “Covid-19 risk” waste and help to prevent the outbreak spread.
