The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed many global health issues<\/strong>, including medical waste sorting and management systems<\/strong>. According to the “Global analysis of health care waste in the context of COVID-19” published by WHO in February 2022, three out of ten health care facilities worldwide are not equipped with an infectious waste management system<\/strong>, and less than a third of health care facilities in the least developed countries have a basic medical waste management system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To meet these new needs, UNICEF<\/strong> (United Nations Children’s Fund) and UNDP<\/strong> (United Nations Development Program) have launched plans to respond to these post-pandemic issues<\/strong> by publishing public tenders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The object ? Integrate a medical waste treatment technology<\/strong> which is :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    STERIPLUS\u2122 systems<\/strong> have accordingly been chosen by United Nations agencies <\/strong>to strengthen infectious waste treatment capacities <\/strong>in Iraq, Syria and, more recently, Mongolia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nearly a hundred machines have been shipped to more than 80 hospitals and health centers<\/strong> in countries with major health problems, due in particular to the ongoing conflicts in their territories.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    After installations for M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res<\/em> (Doctors Without Borders) <\/strong>in Iraq, for the Pasteur Institute of Dakar<\/strong> in Senegal, and numerous machines installed worldwide, Tesalys continues its fight against infectious diseases with STERIPLUS\u2122 on-site treatment systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
